PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's basketball team will host Fordham on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
Armendariz' Big Week
Graduate student
Jolene Armendariz scored a season-high 15 points in Wednesday night's game against Richmond and beat that mark against Saint Louis with a 20-point performance. Averaging 17.5 points per game across the two games, Armendariz knocked down 11 three-pointers throughout the week.
Arrival Of The Reinforcements
Sophomore
Aryss Macktoon and graduate student
Mackenzie Daleba both returned from injury against Saint Louis. Macktoon had missed the entirety of conference play up to this point and immediately made an impact, recording seven points and four steals in 21 minutes off the bench. Daleba added four points and three rebounds after missing the previous three games.
Consistency Is Key
Junior
Ayisse Magassa is the lone Explorer to start all 25 games this season. Magassa, who is third on the team in points, is averaging 7.5 points per game and has scored in double figures in two of her last four games.
Quinn Delivers Again
Freshman
Joan Quinn once again scored in double figures against Saint Louis and is averaging 9.5 points per contest.
Quinn has scored 10 or more points in seven of La Salle's last eight games and is second on the team in points.
Stealing The Ball
La Salle recorded a season-high 17 steals against Saint Louis. The Explorers rank fourth in the Atlantic 10 with 9.3 steals per game.
Despite missing significant time due to injury,
Aryss Macktoon still ranks fourth in the conference with 46 steals on the season.
Crashing The Boards
The Explorers rank 74th in the country with 13.2 offensive rebounds per game, good for sixth in the Atlantic 10.
The Series
La Salle has won the last four meetings between the two teams and leads the overall series 38-16. Last year, the Explorers earned a 64-53 at home, before converting 20-36 threes in a 93-83 road victory.
Scouting The Rams
Fordham enters Wednesday's game with a 12-11 overall record and a 6-6 mark in conference play. The Rams, who are 4-6 on the road this season, have lost their last four games.
Connor Leads The Way
Redshirt Sophomore
Ashleigh Connor leads the Explorers with 11.5 points and 3.1 assists per contest. Connor has has scored in double figures in 14 of her last 20 games.
The Magic Formula
The Explorers are 6-1 on the season when scoring 65 points or more and 7-3 when hitting 23 or more field goals throughout a contest.
