Personal Records Galore As Track & Field Concludes Indoor Regular Season At Philadelphia Metro

PHILADELPHIA - On Friday, the La Salle men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Philadelphia Metro at the Jane and David Ott Center, their third of five meets hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.

The Explorers set 10 personal-records, five season-bests, and a program-record at the meet.

HOW THEY FINISHED:
  • Sophomore Soleil Morrison found the podium in the women's 200-meter, recording a personal-record time of 24.80s.
  • Followed closely behind by senior Nevaeh Davis (25.10), freshman Adaugo Ilonze (26.19), and Stacy Larose (28.11), all four Explorers who participated set season-best times in the event, with two setting personal-bests.
  • The men's 200-meter was equally as kind to the Explorers as all three participants set season-bests with two setting new persona-bests. Freshman Evan Dias (23.12) led the way, followed closely by sophomore Deion McIntosh (23.29) and Hamidou Samasa (23.56).
  • Of the seven La Salle participants in the men's and women's 200-meter, three set season-best times and four set new personal-bests.
  • Finishing just 0.01 seconds long of her personal-best, Davis finished fifth overall in the women's 60-meter at 7.74.
  • Freshman Gillian Lovett led the way for the Blue and Gold in the mile. Her personal-best time of 4:59.69 in the mile was good enough for a third place spot on the podium.
  • Also recording personal-best times in the women's mile, junior Ella Verello, freshman Cara Coppolino, and sophomore Stella Hammond all placed in the top 15 with times of 5:13.07, 5:13.46, and 5:16.62 respectively.
  • Two Explorers on the men's side also set personal best times in the mile; sophomore Bram van Druten placed 12th at 4:12.80 followed by junior Gavin Zanck at 4:27.90. Senior Joe Branderbit also ran a season's best 4:23.23 in the event.
  • To conclude the match, the men's 4x400-meter relay team set a season-best time of 3:25.87.
