Billy Watts '94, the Senior Vice President of North America, General Mills is the first member of the La Salle Baseball Advisory Board to be highlighted.

Why La Salle? "I valued a Christian Brothers education, having attended both La Salle College High School and La Salle University.  I believe that set the moorings of my values and leadership principles which have application to how I lead both our business and community engagements at General Mills and in my personal life.  That coupled with the strong education and overall University experience positioned me well to start a career.  I was lucky enough to do a Co-op and internship, play Baseball and work as a Resident Assistant throughout my college career.  So, I felt like I received a very well rounded, engaged experience while at La Salle."

Favorite La Salle Baseball Memory? "For me it was simply about the relationships you foster and the experiences you gain.  We traveled, at that time, across the country playing a sport we all loved.  I grew up in Philadelphia so to be able to play a D-1 sport, establish friendships, many of which I still maintain today) and have all the experiences is what I recall.  The games were fun, but it always comes back to the people and experiences."

Why Did You Get Involved? "I have been impressed with the leadership of Athletic Director, Ash Puri and the commitment to putting a competitive team back on the field.  Additionally, adding Coach Miller and Coach Lake felt like another strong sign that the University was going to support the program.  Ultimately, I want a new generation of student-athletes to have the same strong experience I had and feel compelled to do everything I can to help deliver that for the Athletic Department and our athletes. We are well on our way and have already raised a strong portion of our Phase I goal!"
