Syracuse, NY – The La Salle women's lacrosse team fell to the Le Moyne Dolphins this morning, losing by a score of 9-5. In a game that was played during snowfall, a third quarter surge by the hosts broke the deadlock that was 3-3 at half.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a goal by the Dolphins 1:47 into the first quarter, junior Sam Klein knotted it up at one thanks to a great pass from junior Molly Maloney.
- Up a man due to a Le Moyne penalty, junior Jenna Pickard put the Explorers up, taking advantage of the feed from sophomore Kate Licciardi with 6:13 left in the first quarter.
- Le Moyne tied it up at two with 1:12 left in the first quarter, and both teams entered the second quarter knotted up.
- In the second quarter, the snow began to pick up, leading to troubles controlling the ball. A turnover by Le Moyne led to another Klein goal with 10:28 left in the half.
- With under two minutes to go, the hosts responded with an equalizer as the squads entered halftime tied at three.
- After a number of save by junior goalie Mary Babbage, the Dolphins took the lead with 5:40 left in the third.
- The lead grew up in the next couple of minutes to make it a 6-3 game, before redshirt junior Alana Lathan got one back in the final seconds of the third quarter to get it to 6-4.
- Entering the fourth up two, the hosts added three more to put the game out of reach. Sophomore Mia Riccitelli scored right before the final minute to get to the final score of 9-5.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Draw controls were 10-8 in favor of the Explorers.
- Klein led the team in goals (2), shots (5), and shots on goal (4).
- Babbage recorded yet another game of making 10+ saves, getting 11 stops today.
