PHILADELPHIA – La Salle women's lacrosse fell to the visiting Saint Joseph's Hawks in its game at McCarthy Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• La Salle got on the board with 8:46 left in the first when senior attacker Katie Johnson took advantage of sophomore attacker Kate Licciardi's pass, making it 4-1.
• The Hawks scored two more before the frame ended.
• After two more goals by the visitors to start the second quarter, junior midfielder Sam Klein scored with 12:58 left in the half, courtesy of an assist recorded by junior attacker Molly Maloney.
• Saint Joseph's scored the remaining goals and recorded all of the goals in the third quarter.
• Maloney recorded her second point of the game with her tally 8:23 into the fourth quarter to get La Salle's third.
• The visitors scored a few more and saw out the rest of the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Clears were tied at nine apiece for both teams.
• The Explorers led in the ground balls category, with an advantage of 14-11.
• Maloney recorded her fourth game this season with multiple points.

UP NEXT

• The team will travel to the New England area next week to play UMass, with the game set for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
