Track & Field Race In Virginia Challenge and Paul Donahue Invitational

PHILADELPHIA – Explorers track & field competed in two meets this past weekend, as some of the athletes raced in the Virginia Challenge Friday afternoon, while the rest ran in the Paul Donahue Invitational on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

HOW THEY FINISHED (VIRGINIA CHALLENGE):
  • Helene Usher ran a 17:04.54 5k, good for eighth overall in the event.
  • Neve Moulai also ran in that event, getting a time of 17:34.94.
  • On the men's side, Callum Murray and Chanel Muir crossed the finish line side-by-side in the 1500-meter run. Murray had a time of 3:57.32 while Muir's time was 3:57.49.
  • David Butts' time of 9:19.5 in the 3k steeple placed him 14th overall in that race.
  • To conclude the night, Matt Hill was 13th overall in the 5k with a time of 14:29.85.
HOW THEY FINISHED (PAUL DONAHUE INVITATIONAL):
  • Ricky Lee got a 19th place finish in the 1500-meter run with his time of 3:59.24.
  • In the women's version of that event, Gillian Lovett won it with a time of 4:33.69. Georgia-Rose Dawson came in shortly thereafter, placing fourth with a time of 4:37.41.
  • In the 5k, La Salle had two runners place in the top five, as Malthe Bogebjerg was third and Charlie Hazlett was fifth.
  • Bogebjerg's time was 14:34.64 and Hazlett completed the race in 14:37.7.
  • Stella Hammond was eighth in the women's 5k with her time of 18:03.94.
  • Nevaeh Davis got a top-five finish, going 12.2 in the 100-meter dash. She also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.86.
  • In the field, Kasi Brown's triple jump measure of 11.18 meters got her fifth place.
  • Marionna Logan was 14th in the long jump, jumping a total distance of five meters.
UP NEXT
  • The La Salle track & field teams return to Franklin Field on Thursday, competing in the historic Penn Relays meet. The two-day competition starts Thursday at 6:30 p.m., and the meet will be streamed on FloSports.
