PHILADELPHIA – La Salle women's lacrosse fell to the VCU Rams on Senior Day at home Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Rams scored all three goals in the first quarter to build up an early lead.
• La Salle tried to get on the board in the next frame, but the opposing goalie made a few saves to shut them out in the first half. Sophomore attacker Kate Licciardi had a shot in the quarter too that hit post and went out.
• VCU added a few more to widen the deficit in the second and third quarters.
• Senior attacker Katie Johnson's strike with 10:27 left in the game put La Salle on the board.
• Junior attacker Molly Maloney got La Salle's second with less than nine minutes remaining off an assist by Licciardi.
• Johnson got her second of the game with 2:45 left, before VCU's goal in the final seconds to get the game to its finished score.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Saves were 12-6 in favor of La Salle.
• With her two goals today, Katie Johnson has her sixth multi-goal game of the season.
• Ground balls were nearly 50/50, as La Salle claimed 18 of the 37 in that category.
