Pennsauken, NJ - On Friday, the La Salle University men's rowing team returned to the Cooper River to compete in the first day of the IRA National Championship.
As they have in every regatta this season, the Explorers entered a V8, 2V8, and 3V8 into the races. Their V8 boat placed fourth, ahead of #16 Temple and #25 MIT. The 2V8 boat also placed fourth, ahead of #16 Columbia. The 3V8 boat placed fifth, but automatically qualified for the third final due to the shortage of 3V8 boats in competition.
Each of the V8 and 2V8 boats will compete in the CD semifinals tomorrow, with an opportunity to race in the third final if they place in the top half of their semifinal heat.
The results for Friday's preliminaries are as follows.
