Men's Soccer Sweeps Philly Soccer Six Week Awards

Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle men's soccer team swept the Philly Soccer Six weekly awards, announced Monday afternoon.

Junior Kyrese Lynch-Bailey was named Co-Player of the Week, as the forward/midfielder tallied three points combined in the Explorers' two games last week. Lynch-Bailey netted a goal in La Salle's 2-0 road victory over NJIT Tuesday and provided an assist in an eventual 2-2 draw with Drexel on Saturday, when he assisted Julius De Vries on the match-tying goal in the 83rd minute. Lynch-Bailey shares the award with Luke Johnson of Saint Joseph's.

Senior Tino Kneis was named Goalkeeper of the Week, posting a shutout on four saves in the Explorers' win at NJIT. He made six more stops in Saturday's game against Drexel.

Fellow junior Tobi Osoba was named Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the shutout in Newark, NJ.

Freshman Sofus Ulrich was named Rookie of The Week, as his goal in the 68th minute of the Drexel match opened the Explorers' two-goal second half to eventually draw with their crosstown rival.

La Salle continues a three-game homestand this week, hosting Monmouth Tuesday night at 7:00 pm before commencing Atlantic 10 play on Saturday when Saint Joseph's comes to McCarthy Stadium, also at 7:00 pm. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
