This Week In La Salle Athletics: Eight Teams In Action, Field Hockey At Home Twice This Weekend

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.  
 
Men's Golf 
  • The Explorers teed off at the Temple Invitational earlier this morning at The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Alongside 12 other schools, La Salle will play 36 holes today and 18 tomorrow. 
  • Senior Ben Battye took home the individual crown last year at the tournament.

Women's Soccer 
  • La Salle women's soccer continues conference play in a road game Rhode Island Thursday at 7:00 p.m., followed by a home matchup Sunday against George Mason at 1:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. 
  • In last Saturday's game against Dayton, goalie Mackenna Yaracs recorded four saves.

Field Hockey  
  • Following the team's first road win of the season at Queens last Sunday, the Explorers will return to Philadelphia for their next four contests, starting with home matchups with Richmond and Bryant this weekend. 
  • Sophomore Sofia Enriquez scored her first career goal on Friday in the loss at Davidson, before delivering the game-winning penalty stroke in double-overtime against Queens.

Swimming and Diving 
  • The swimming and diving team open their season Saturday on the road at Towson at 10:00 a.m. 
  • This is the third straight year both teams will have their first meet come against the Tigers. In last year's meet at Kirk Pool, men's swimmer Andrea Savoca and women's swimmer Carlota each won both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke.

Men's Soccer 
  • The men's team travels to the Midwest to take on Saint Louis Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+. 
  • Itzak Sandoval notched an assist and a goal in last week's two games, scoring the equalizer last Saturday in their 2-2 draw against Saint Joseph's.

Triathlon  
  • The Explorers travel to Midlothian, Virginia, for their final regular season race to compete in the Robious Landing Collegiate Cup. The event is one of just seven NCAA national collegiate cups. 
  • La Salle looks to build upon a strong showing this past weekend in the Beaver County Collegiate Cup, which saw the team finish sixth overall with four athletes posting sub-5:00 pace times.   
  • Graduate Student Fiona Davoudi has finished in the top 10 individually in both Explorers' races this season.

Rugby 
  • The Explorers return home to the confines of DeVincent Field to host Temple Sunday morning at 11:00 am. 
  • La Salle looks to continue building as a program, as the team has been on the doorstep of its first win in program history, holding second-half leads in its last two matches.
