This Week In La Salle Athletics: Five Teams In Action As Spring Semester Begins

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.
   
Men's Basketball 
  • On Wednesday, the Explorers travel south to take on Richmond at 7:00 pm (ESPN+) before beginning a homestand against St. Bonaventure on Saturday at 2:30 pm (USA Network). 
  • Saturday's game will be Philly Appreciation Day and Army ROTC is the game sponsor.  
  • Last week was highlighted by four Explorers scoring double figures in a 79-72 road win at Rhode Island -- the Explorers' first Atlantic-10 victory of the young conference schedule.

Women's Basketball 
  • On Wednesday, the Explorers will host Kid's Day against Saint Louis at 11:00 am before continuing their homestand against Davidson on Sunday at 1:00 pm. 
  • Last week, junior Aryss Macktoon led the team scoring against George Mason (17) and Saint Joseph's (19) while also tallying eight steals, further extending her lead on the Atlantic 10 steals leaderboard.

Swimming and Diving 
  • La Salle swim and dive teams return to competition this Saturday away at Bucknell, with the meet scheduled to start at 1:00 pm. 
  • In the teams' last meet, the women defeated A-10 rival Rhode Island by a score of 183-114. Senior Gabriela Herbreder won three individual events (150-yd butterfly, 150-yd breaststroke, and 100-yd IM) as well as being part of the winning 200-yd medley relay team.

Track & Field 
  • Explorers track & field race once again at UPenn's Ott Center this Saturday in the Quaker Invitational, with the meet scheduled to begin at 11:30 am. It will be streamed on ESPN+.  
  • In last week's meet at the Ott Center, freshman Ryan Stankiewicz placed fifth in the 60-meter finals with a time of 6.99.

Water Polo 
  • La Salle water polo hits the pool for its first form of competition this season with an exhibition at Villanova on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
