This Week In La Salle Athletics: 12 Teams In Action, Women’s Basketball Hosts Postseason WNIT Monday

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.   
 
Baseball 
  • In midweek action, the Explorers travel to face Big 5 rival Penn on Tuesday before returning to Hank DeVincent Field to host Saint Peter's on Wednesday. Both midweek games will start at 3:00 pm.  
  • The Explorers continue the A-10 slate this weekend in Washington, D.C. with a trip to face George Washington. Friday's game starts at 3:00 pm, Saturday's at 1, and Sunday's at 12 noon.  
  • Both La Salle and George Washington are 2-4 in conference play, as this series will prove to be a vital early season result with standings implications. The Explorers (8th) currently sit ahead of George Washington (10th) in the standings due to tiebreaker criteria. The series winner could find themselves in the upper half of the standings come Sunday night.

Women's Basketball 
  • On Monday, the Explorers will kick off their first postseason appearance since the 1991-92 season with a Second Round WNIT matchup with Binghamton at home. 
  • Aryss Macktoon was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year earlier this month.

Women's Lacrosse 
  • Women's Lacrosse is back in action this weekend with a trip across town to face Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's. Faceoff is set for 12 noon.

Men's Golf 
  • On Friday and Saturday, the La Salle men's golf team will compete in the Battle at Rum Pointe in Urbana, MD. 
  • Junior Gavin Dosch and Senior Armand Loscalzo each impressed at the Carpetbagger Classic the past weekend, each placing top 20 individually leading the Explorers to a T-2nd place finish.

Women's Golf 
  • La Salle hits the course for the first time in over a month this weekend, competing in the JEL Intercollegiate on Saturday and Sunday at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, MD.

Women's Water Polo 
  • Water polo heads south for a trio of games this weekend in Lexington, Virginia. The Explorers will face Marist and Iona on Saturday and Siena on Sunday.

Men's Swim 
  • Felix Jedbratt and Carter Perkins will represent La Salle in the NCAA National Championships in Atlanta, GA this week from Thursday to Saturday. 
  • Jedbratt won the A-10 Most Outstanding Performer in the conference championships, and qualified to race in the 50-yd free, the 100-fly, and the 200-fly. 
  • Perkins set a new conference record in the 100-yd free at the conference championships, and he will race in that event Saturday morning.

Track and Field 
  • Explorers track and field has two meets this weekend, with the Raleigh Relays from Thursday to Saturday and the Danny Curran Invite on Saturday. 
  • Sophomore Callum Murray won the 800-meter run in the meet last Saturday at Penn with a time of 1:54.67.

Women's Rowing 
  • On Saturday, the Explorers will compete in the Temple Invitational at the Schuylkill River.

Men's Rowing 
  • On Saturday, La Salle will compete against Princeton, Georgetown, and Temple at Carnegie Lake in Princeton, NJ. The Explorers scrimmaged against Navy on Saturday, but this is the team's first competition since November.

Acro & Tumbling 
  • After over a week off, La Salle returns to action this week for a pair of meets. The Explorers will travel to New York to face LIU on Thursday before returning home to face Georgian Court on Sunday at 2:00 pm inside John E. Glaser Arena.  
  • Sunday's meet will be senior day and the last home meet of the Explorers' inaugural campaign.
