Philadelphia, PA - In front of a lively Kid's Day crowd at John E. Glaser Arena, the La Salle women's basketball team delivered a competitive effort highlighted by a career-high 25 points for redshirt junior
Ashleigh Connor, but ultimately fell 66-57 to Saint Louis in Atlantic 10 play on Wednesday morning.
Even in defeat, the Explorers posted several memorable individual milestones. Against her former school, Connor set a new career-high with 25 points while grabbing 8 rebounds. Junior
Aryss Macktoon continued her two-way impact, logging 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and a block, her 16th game this season with multiple steals. Sophomore
Joan Quinn notched a career-best 5 steals alongside 11 points and 2 assists. Redshirt freshman
Kiara Williams anchored the paint, securing a career-high 10 rebounds and tying her personal best with 3 blocks.
For the second straight contest, the Explorers utilized an impressive third quarter to capture the lead. Connor scored nine points in the quarter to lead the charge.
The Explorers' defensive pressure forced 13 steals and limited Saint Louis to 0-for-15 from three-point range, but La Salle shot just 3-for-20 from distance themselves and managed only 2-for-19 from the field during a decisive fourth quarter. Despite the setback, La Salle's effort on Kid's Day were on full display for the local school children and fans in attendance.
La Salle returns home on Sunday to host Davidson at John E. Glaser Arena for Morgan's Message Day. Tip-off is set for 1 PM, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
