PHILADELPHIA, PA – The La Salle women's lacrosse team moved to 2-1 on the season with a convincing 16-6 victory over Howard (0-3) on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.
Senior attacker Emi Waldron led all scorers with five goals, upping her total to a team-high 12 on the season. Sophomore attacker Kate Licciardi and junior midfielder Mia Riccitelli each delivered hat tricks, with Licciardi also adding an assist.
Senior attackers Sam Klein and Molly Maloney each recorded a pair of goals, while sophomore midfielder Auria Mullins also found the back of the net.
La Salle set the tone early, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Explorers maintained control through a dominant defensive showing, limiting Howard to just 14 shots on goal and causing nine turnovers. Junior defender Natalie Riccitelli collected five ground balls and forced four turnovers, anchoring the back line and helping La Salle win the ground ball battle 23-18.
