PHILADELPHIA, PA – La Salle men's basketball freshman guard Ashton Walker earned Philadelphia Big 5 Rookie of the Week honors on Monday afternoon after recording his first career double-double in the Explorers' 59-46 victory against Rhode Island last Saturday.
Against the Rams, Walker matched his career-high in points for the third time this season, finishing with 18 while recording a career-high 10 rebounds and a career-high four 3-pointers on just five attempts.
Walker currently leads all A-10 freshmen in assists (84), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9), and assists per game (3.1).
He is also averaging 13.7 points and five rebounds over his last three games.
It is the second time Walker has earned the award after winning it for his performance in La Salle's season-opening victory over Coppin State.
