This Week In La Salle Athletics: Seven Programs In Action As Track & Field Competes In A-10 Championships

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.

Men's Basketball
  • La Salle looks to keep its momentum rolling into the penultimate week of the regular season after a strong win to sweep the season series over Rhode Island on Saturday, 59-46. The 46 points allowed were the second-fewest in an Atlantic 10 game in school history.
  • The Explorers host George Washington Tuesday night, looking to avenge a January loss against the Revolutionaries in Washington, DC. It will be Career Day inside John E. Glaser Arena, presented by game sponsor Liss and Marion. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
  • La Salle will travel south to face Davidson on Sunday at noon in the Explorers' only Sunday A10 game of the season. It will be broadcast nationally on USA Network.
  • Ashton Walker and Rob Dockery have been coming into their own down the stretch of A-10 play, each guiding La Salle in Saturday's victory. Walker was named A-10 Freshman of the Week after posting his first career double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds, shooting four of five from beyond the arc. Dockery dropped 19 points and grabbed 15 boards on 13 of 16 from the line.

Women's Basketball
  • In the final week of their regular season, the Explorers will conclude their Richmond road trip with a matchup at VCU on Wednesday at 6:00 pm, before returning home to celebrate senior day against Loyola Chicago on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
  • Sophomore Joan Quinn has been red hot as of late, scoring in double figures in each of her last eight games. She is shooting 54.3% from beyond the arc in that stretch.

Baseball
  • Despite Monday's blizzard, La Salle is ready for a stacked week of four baseball games, beginning Wednesday at 2:00 pm against Delaware at Hank DeVincent Field. The Explorers will then travel south on I95 for a weekend series in Baltimore against Coppin State. The two teams will play Friday and Saturday at 2:00 pm and Sunday at 1:00 pm.
  • La Salle looks to avenge a close loss against Delaware last week. The Explorers were leading, 4-2, late, before Delaware used small ball to rally for a 6-4 win. It is the Explorers' only loss, as the team rebounded with a doubleheader sweep on Friday over Delaware State to improve to 5-1.
  • Carter Groen took a brief lead in the national RBI category with a six-RBI day on Friday, though likely got hurt by Sunday's snow out in pursuit of holding the lead. Groen (17) currently stands in a tie for fifth place, with the leading mark being 21. The redshirt sophomore has a trio of four-RBI games this season.

  • La Salle is ranked 15th nationally, as the Explorers will be Missouri State's third ranked opponent in its first four meets.
  • The Explorers are 2-0 and were awarded a forfeit victory to Stevenson last Friday. La Salle defeated Morgan State in the program's inaugural meet two weeks ago in Baltimore.

  • Emi Waldron tied her career-high with five goals in a single game in the Saturday win over Central Connecticut. She is the leading scorer (18 goals) in an offense that averages over 12 goals per game five games into the young season.
