EASTON, Pa. – The La Salle women's lacrosse team (3-3) suffered a 16-7 defeat at Lafayette (3-1) on Wednesday night at Fisher Stadium in non-conference play. 

Senior attacker Emi Waldron led the way for La Salle with four points, including her 19th and 20th goals of the season. 

Junior attacker Kate Licciardi added two assists in the contest while Molly Maloney, Auria Mullins, Kayla Norris, and Mia Riccitelli all tallied a goal for the Explorers.

Facing a high volume of shots, senior goalkeeper Mary Babbage made 13 saves for the Blue and Gold.

Lafayette set the tone from the opening draw, building a commanding 8-2 lead by the end of the first quarter. 

La Salle responded with three goals in the second period but still trailed 11-5 at halftime. The Explorers struggled to break Lafayette's momentum in the third quarter, held scoreless while the Leopards extended their edge to 13-5.

La Salle travels to Bethlehem, Pa. to face Lehigh on Saturday, Feb. 28. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m.
