Davidson responded with a 15-2 run to seize the lead, and the teams traded baskets throughout a tightly contested first half. The Wildcats entered the break up 33-27.
In the second half, the Explorers closed the gap to three points on several occasions, thanks to strong drives from Harris and inside play from Dockery. Davidson answered each run with efficient execution, stretching its lead to as many as 13 late in the game. Despite La Salle's free throw accuracy and defensive pressure, the Wildcats maintained control down the stretch, sealing the result with key buckets in the final minutes.

As part of "Speedy Morris Day", La Salle will rename a corner of the stands at John E. Glaser Arena after Morris while also dedicating a section of the concourse of Glaser Arena to La Salle's all-time winningest head coach.
