Philadelphia, PA – The La Salle men's soccer team played Dayton to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium, earning a fourth point in Atlantic 10 play following their win over George Washington last week.
The Explorers controlled much of the first half, outshooting the Flyers 15-3 and putting five shots on goal. La Salle continued to pressure after halftime, but Dayton broke through in the 50th minute when Braden Seel scored off an assist from Miles Bonham.
La Salle continued to create chances throughout the second half and found the equalizer in the 77th minute. Julius de Vries scored his third goal of the season to bring the Explorers level at 1-1. Zeke Zambrano was credited with the assist.
Neither team found a go-ahead goal in the final 13 minutes as the physical match ended in a draw. La Salle finished with a 24-8 advantage in shots and put nine attempts on frame compared to Dayton's four.
The draw moves La Salle to 5-3-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Atlantic 10 play.
