Sorge Ties Second-Lowest Round In Program History At Autumn Harvest

Lopatcong, NJ – The La Salle women's golf team finished ninth out of eleven teams at the Autumn Harvest at Architects Golf Club, posting a team score of 161-over (1013). 
 

Junior Bryn Sorge led the Explorers, tying for 29th at 19-over 232. Sorge opened with a 3-over 74, which ties for the second-lowest round in program history, highlighted by birdies on holes 8 and 18. She followed with a 78 in round two and an 80 in round three. Her final round featured a 1-under 35 on the back nine, with birdies on holes 11 and 12.  
 

Sophomore Jewel Schaefer tied for 47th at 36-over 249. Schaefer opened with an 81 (+10) and closed with an 82 (+11), making three birdies. She shot a 38 on the front nine in the final round. 
 

Freshman Dalia Izham placed 52nd at 43-over 256. Izham cut six strokes between rounds one and two, going from an 86 to an 80 with a 38 on the front nine. 
 

Sophomore Sarah Doherty rounded out the scoring lineup, placing 60th at 63-over 276. Doherty posted her best round in round two, a 90 that included a 43 on the front nine.  
 

As a team, the Explorers recorded seven birdies over the three rounds. 
 

The Explorers return to action at the Lehigh Invitational at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ, on October 26th & 27th.
