Washington, DC - On Tuesday, the Atlantic 10 announced senior goalkeeper Abby Boggs as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 6.
Boggs turned in a record-setting weekend, making 34 saves across a pair of road contests at Cornell and Colgate. The senior opened the weekend with a career-high 21 saves against Cornell on Friday, following that with a 13-save performance at Colgate on Sunday, including eight saves in the fourth quarter to force a shootout.
Her 34 saves over the two-game stretch mark the most by any Division I goalkeeper in a single weekend since Katie Wimmer of Columbia also recorded 34 saves in 2023.
The honor marks the second time in Boggs' career that she has been named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week. Her first selection came last season following La Salle's shootout victory at Saint Louis, when Boggs recorded a shutout in the shootout to help the Explorers secure the road win over the Billikens.
