John McCarthy has been named GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week for September 23. The senior goalkeeper recorded his program-best 25^th career shutout this week while registering a .900 save percentage in La Salle's two matches.

The Northeast Catholic product tallied six saves in the Explorer's 1-0 loss at Drexel on Tuesday evening. McCarthy followed up the outing with a three-save shutout on Saturday as the Explorers took down Lehigh, 3-0.

The Cinnaminson, N.J. native has amassed 380 career saves, fourth in La Salle history. McCarthy has shutout two of the last four opponents he's seen and has not allowed more than one goal in a game since September 8 vs. Bucknell.
