Men's Results
EASTON, Pa. - The La Salle men's cross-country team took to the course for the first of two meets this weekend and finished in third place overall at the Leopard Invitational on Saturday morning at the Metzgar Field Athletic Complex.
Junior
Matt Finn had the top finish for the Explorers and placed seventh overall with a mark of 26:28. Teammate and fellow junior Mike Bowden was not far behind and placed eighth with a time of 26:36.
Freshman
Ben Pershall also finished in the top 20 for the Explorers and finished 18th with a time of 27:09.
Senior
Kasey Geller, sophomore James Murphy, and senior Brendan Lyman also were in the top 30 and finished within seconds of each other.
Geller placed 25th with a time of 27:17, Murphy was 26th, only two seconds behind Geller and Lyman crossed the finish line in 27th place with a time of 27:21.
As a team, the Explorers finished third overall out of 13 teams behind American and St. Francis.
La Salle will also run on Sunday morning in a very important Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind. The top 10 runners on the men's squad will be racing to determine the final roster spots for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will take place in two weeks on the campus of Charlotte.
