Cedarville, OH - The La Salle cross country teams will race in the Atlantic 10 championship meet Saturday morning, with the men's race set for 10:00 am, while the women's race will start at 10:50 am. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.

Last Time Out

The Explorers last ran on Friday, October 17 in the Princeton Fall Classic. Junior
Gwenno Goode led the way for the women's team, getting 21st with a 6k time of 20:34.8, while senior
Charlie Hazlett was the first finisher for the men, placing 113th overall in the 8k race with a time of 24:30.
La Salle In The Atlantic 10 Championship Meet

Both squads have enjoyed much success in the championship meet, with the men's team having won 11 times (most recently in 2021), and the women's team has won eight A-10 championships, with their most recent title in 2019. Last year, the men's team placed fifth and the women's team placed fourth.

Quest For A Repeat

Goode will look to build off her successful 2024 cross country campaign, aiming to defend her individual women's title she won last year. She completed the race last year in 20:10.4, over 20 seconds faster than the runner-up.

Building Off Last Year

Three runners won All-Rookie honors last year for their strong debut finish in the Atlantic-10 Championships: sophomores
Amelia Green and
Callum Murray, and junior
Matt Hill. These three have consistently scored points for their teams this season and are aiming to improve from their A-10 Championship result last season.
Making An Impression

Freshman
Jacob Gardner has had a statement rookie season so far, winning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors twice this season (weeks of 9/29-10/5 and 10/13-10/19). Gardner has ran in all four meets La Salle has competed in so far this season, and he had his best finish in the Paul Short Run, placing 12th in the open race with a personal best 8k time of 24:20.7.

Next Up

The squads will follow up this meet with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet in Bethlehem, PA on Friday, November 14. That meet will start at noon.
