Head Coach Dan Ireland and the La Salle University Athletic Department would like to invite alumni athletes, family, and friends of the Explorer Cross Country and Track & Field programs to the Cross Country Team Banquet and Championship Celebration on December 3 at 6:00pm in the Blue and Gold Dinning Commons.

During the celebration, the Inaugural Charles Torpey Award will be given to one male and one female student-athlete in honor of the 16–time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.

The Charles Torpey Award will be given to the track or cross country student athlete who is admired by his or her peers, makes smart decisions both on and off the track, and is both intense and focused. These are all traits coach Torpey admired in his athletes.   Explorer Cross Country and Track & Field student-athletes will be honoring their former coach throughout the year with a black “Torp” patch on all track & field and cross country jerseys.  

A highlight of the banquet will be the celebration of the Men's and Women's Cross Country Champions, who won the Atlantic 10 titles on October 29 in Charlotte, NC.
