Stephanie Bearish and
Wendy Hutchinson were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for cross country, announced by the conference on Monday.
Santana finished the year off with an individual title at the Atlantic 10 Championship, which was held on October 29th in Charlotte. He was named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week after a fourth place finish at the Navy Invitational back on September 17th.
Santana also helped lead the Explorers to their first A-10 team title since 2007 and is the first Explorers to earn academic all-conference honors for the men since Andrew Wagoner back in 2008.
On the women's side, Bearish and Hutchinson also helped lead the Explorers to their first A-10 crown since the 2007 season. Bearish placed 8th overall at the A-10 Championship meet and earned all-conference honors.Hutchinson also got an all-conference nod and finished in 12th place overall.
The pair of seniors are the first Explorers to earn academic all-conference honors on the women's side since Carolyn Lipovsky did so in 2007.
