PHILADELPHIA - Senior defender Nick Dundon, a 2010 Academic All-America Third Team pick, was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team and will once again be on the ballot for the Academic All-America Team.

Dundon, who sports a 3.85 GPA in Biology, earned the honor for the second straight year. The senior has helped anchor the Explorer defense again in 2011, leading the squad to a 4-2-3 record in Atlantic 10 play and a second consecutive Atlantic 10 Tournament spot.

Since he moved from midfield to defense early in 2010, the team has posted a 10-4-4 record in Atlantic 10 play in those two seasons combined. His defense helped the team to eight shutouts in 2010 and five more so far this season.

Dundon and the rest of the Explorers open Atlantic 10 Tournament play on Thursday (11/10) when the fifth-seeded Explorers take on fourth-seeded Temple at Saint Louis University's Robert R. Hermann Stadium at 8:30 PM Eastern (7:30 PM Central).
