CAMDEN, NJ - Fresh off a 13-inning 6-5 thrilling win over third-seeded Dayton yesterday, the Explorers will be back in action this afternoon when they take on No. 2 Rhode Island at 3:30 p.m. at Campbell's Field.
The Rams (30-20) took two-of-three from the Explorers earlier this season at Hank DeVincent Field.
Thursday's starter, Eric Van Wyk, had a solid outing against URI, going six strong innings and leaving wtih a 3-1 lead before the bullpen gave up the edge in one of La Salle's two losses against Rhoady.
The Explorers (28-24) need a win to stay in the winner's bracket and avoid a rematch against Dayton, who awaits the loser of today's day-two tilt.
If La Salle wins, they will move on to face top-seeded Charlotte in the semifinals on Friday. A loss will relegate the Explorers to the loser's bracket where they will have a rematch against the Flyers tonight at 7 p.m.
Fans can listen to all of today's A-10 tourney action here on the La Salle Radio Network with Jared Smith on for the call. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
