Junior cross country runner Stephanie Bearish has been honored as a member of the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Cross Country Team, as announced by the publication this week.

Bearish, an Atlantic 10 All-Conference and NCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection, placed fifth at the A-10 cross country championships (5,000m, 17:35) in October.

She went on to finish 26th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (6k, 21:22) and crossed the line 15th at the ECAC championships (5K, 18:06.8).

In the fall, the Explorer cross country squad finished second in the A-10, third in the ECAC and sixth in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic region.

Bearish is one of seven women selected to the Philadelphia Inquirer Team, which is highlighted by three members of the Division I National Champion Villanova squad.
