PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle men's soccer squad looks to get in the win column when the Explorers head to West Point on Saturday night for an 8:15 PM contest against Army.
The Explorers are coming off of a tough 1-0 loss at Lafayette last Sunday in the finale of the Lafayette Puma Soccer Classic, as the two teams were scoreless until a 64th minute goal slipped through. They fell 3-1 to Iona in the opening match of the weekend's tournament.
Jason Plumhoff registered the team's score in the Iona game just 1:12 into the contest. Senior
Nick Dundon and sophomore
Kevin Pink were honored on the All-Tournament Team.
The Explorers regained
John McCarthy last Sunday after he missed two games due to injury. He has 17 saves through the three games he played.
Army (2-4) is coming off of a 2-0 loss to Saint Joseph's and looks to snap a three-game skid. The Black Knights outshot the Hawks 22-4 and held a 15-0 advantage on corner kicks, but could not manage a score past Hawk keeper Andrew D'Ottavi. They feature balanced scoring as seven different players have recorded the team's seven goals so far this season.
