PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's basketball team continues its march through the Atlantic 10 schedule when the Explorers head to Richmond on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game at the Robins Center.
The Explorers look to bounce back from a tough 77-66 loss at Charlotte on Wednesday, which snapped the squad's six-game win streak, the longest such streak since a seven-gamer back in 2006.
Richmond holds a 12-6 advantage in a series dating back to 1987, and won last year's meeting at Tom Gola Arena by a score of 69-65.
Scouting La Salle (9-10, 3-1 Atlantic 10)...
Jada Payne poured in a career-best 18 points in her return to her home state on Wednesday to lead all scorers.
Alexis Scott regained her offensive rhythm, netting 16, and
Brittany Wilson scored 15 along with pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out a team-best four assists.
Wilson, the reigning Atlantic 10, Big 5 and ECAC Player of the Week, has now scored in double figures in 11 of the last 12 games including the last six straight. She averages 14.6 ppg overall along with an Atlantic 10 best 21.5 ppg in league play.
Alexis Scott is second in overall scoring with 12.7 ppg while chipping in 3.1 boards.
Nadia Duncan adds 8.4 ppg, but has netted 11.3 in conference play.
Ruvanna Campbell ranks third in the Atlantic 10 in overall rebounding with 8.8 per game and is second in blocked shots with 1.9 per game. Her total of 34 rejections is just three shy of setting a new freshman single-season blocks record.
Scouting Richmond (14-4, 2-2 Atlantic 10)...
The Explorers face another stiff challenge in Richmond. Although the Spiders are 2-2 in the conference, their 14-4 overall includes a convincing 74-58 win at NC State and a sweep of the Lehigh Christmas City Classic. They are coming off of a 75-59 loss to St. Bonaventure, which along with Charlotte, remains unbeaten in the Atlantic 10.
Three Spiders average double figures, led by Abby Oliver's league-best 16.4 ppg. Genevieve Okoro adds 12.3 and Rachael Bilney chips in 11.6.
Okoro is the team's leading rebounder, with 7.6 boards per contest.
