PHILADELPHIA – La Salle sophomore
Tyreek Duren has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Duren averaged 19.5 ppg., 5.5 rpg. and 3.5 apg. for the Explorers. He shot 14-for-21 (67%) from the field and made two of three shots from three-point range.
The Philadelphia, Pa., native scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out two assists in a close loss at Temple. He followed that performance with a 21-point, five-rebound, five-assist outing in an 80-66 win over Rhode Island.
The point guard shares the honor with Dayton's Matt Kavanaugh.
Duren has scored in double-figures in nine straight games and he added three steals and a block last week. He is third on the team in scoring at 14.1 ppg. and is fifth in the Atlantic 10 with 4.5 apg.
The Explorers (14-6, 3-2 A-10) host George Washington on Wednesday at 7 PM.
