A pair of Peahens (0-11) hit double figures, with Kaydine Bent and Antonia Smith scoring 11 points apiece.
Karynda DuPree chipped in seven points and led all players with a career-best nine rebounds while adding two steals and a blocked shot.
The Explorers (4-9) recorded a number of season highs, including 26 field goals and nine 3-pointers. They also dished out a season-best 18 assists.
The Explorers led wire-to-wire with DuPree opening scoring under a minute into the game and sparking a 19-5 run through the first six-plus minutes of play. The Peahens were held scoreless from the 17:53 point until Kristal Edwards hit two free throws at the 13:21 mark.
Those two points were the first of an 8-0 Peahen run that brought the visitors within 19-14 at 9:23.
Shanel Harrison, who finished with nine points, broke the Explorers' drought with a layup at 8:26. The Peahens got within four on a Smith jumper at 6:41 to put the score at 22-18, but that was the closest the visitors would get as a 7-0 Explorer spurt capped by a Jones layup pushed the lead back to double digits at 29-18.
Bridget Whitfield hit two free throws to get the Peahens back into a single-digit deficit before the Explorers closed out the first half on an 11-3 run for the 40-23 halftime lead.
The Peahens chipped away in the second half to get within eight until a Wilson triple sparked a 12-0 Explorer run to put the home squad up 59-39 with 9:16 on the clock. The visitors never threatened after that en route to the 72-55 final.
The Explorers return to action after the start of the new year, opening 2013 at Rutgers on Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
