MacGillivray Finalizes Women's Basketball Coaching Staff Ahead Of 2025-26 Season

Philadelphia, PA – La Salle University Women's Basketball coach Mountain MacGillivray has announced the hirings of River Baldwin and Sianny Sanchez-Oliver as assistant coaches for the team.

"We are thrilled to welcome River Baldwin and Sianny Sanchez-Oliver to the La Salle women's basketball family," Coach MacGillivray said. "River brings a wealth of high-level playing experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at the highest level. Sianny is a natural-born leader whose energy, competitiveness, and presence immediately elevate the people around her. Together, they bring a fresh perspective and strong character that will help us recruit and develop successful student-athletes both on and of the court."

Baldwin joins the Explorers following a decorated collegiate and professional playing career. The Alabama native was a 2019 McDonald's All-American and ranked No. 27 nationally in her class by ESPN. After three seasons at Florida State, she transferred to NC State, where she made a major impact, starting all 35 games her senior year and leading the team in multiple statistical categories. She most recently played professionally in Germany with Syntainics MBC Halle.

Sanchez-Oliver arrives at La Salle following a successful collegiate playing career that included time at Delaware State and New Mexico State. As a senior at New Mexico State, she started all 30 games, ranking second on the team in both rebounds and assists while also finishing among the conference leaders in steals. A Georgia native, Sanchez-Oliver has also demonstrated leadership off the court, contributing to the development of young athletes as an assistant at the Mount Vernon School in Atlanta and with Anthony Edwards' 2029 AAU team.
