PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's lacrosse team will play the first of two straight road games when it travels to face Binghamton in New York on Saturday.
The Explorers (4-2) are coming off a 10-7 loss to Drexel, which snapped a four-game La Salle win streak.
La Salle boasts the 20
th stingiest defense in Division 1, allowing 9.33 goals per game. It is anchored by senior
Megan Corliss, the reigning Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week who ranks 19th in Division I in goals against average on the season with 8.91.
Junior
Lauren McDermott and freshman
Claire Andrews, last week's A-10 Rookie of the Week, each average close to 2 goals per game on offense.
Senior
Nora McGurkin leads La Salle with 22 draw controls on the season.
Scouting the Bearcats (2-3)
The Bearcats average 12.40 goals per game, while allowing opponents to score 14.40 on them. During their last time out, they fell 17-10 to Lehigh.
Junior midfielder Kristen Stone has 13 goals on the season and also leads the team in draw controls with 14.
On defense, goalkeeper Kara Pafumi has a 13.90 GAA.
