Field Hockey Receives Academic Awards From NFHCA

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle field hockey team has been named a recepient of the 2011 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award. The award is given to squads that post a team grade point average of 3.0 or better.

In addition, eight Explorers were named to the National Academic Squad. They are: junior Becca Chylack, sophomore Jess Deaner, senior Lindsay Fry, senior Katelyn Haney, junior Janel Paukovits, sophomore Olivia Shoemaker, freshman Maddy Tettelbach, and junior Lauren Wright.

La Salle, which qualifed for the Atlantic 10 Tournament this past fall, opens the season on the West Coast at Stanford on August 24 before visiting Pacific on August 26 and UC-Davis on August 27.
