Live Stats | Live Video

PHILADELPHIA – The lacrosse team will begin its 2012 Atlantic 10 season by hosting Duquesne and St. Bonaventure at McCarthy Stadium this weekend.

The contest against Duquesne will begin Friday at 7:00 p.m., while the Explorers will face St. Bonaventure at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

La Salle closed out its non-conference season with a 7-2 record, most recently defeating San Diego State, 10-8, last Sunday.

Senior goalkeeper Megan Corliss is having a strong season between the pipes.  She leads the A-10 in save percentage (.532) and is also 5th in Division I in that same category.  She is 14 saves shy of breaking the all-time saves record at La Salle.

In front of Corliss, seniors Sara Ciaverelli, Lauren Bushby, Allison Herman, Rachel Baker and Melissa DiTomo lead one of the top defenses in the A-10.

On offense, junior Lauren McDermott has a team-leading 18 goals on the season.  Senior Nora McGurkin is La Salle's draw control leader with 28 on the season.

Scouting the Dukes (7-3)

Duquesne enters the weekend on a four-game win streak and is led on offense by Caitlin Prince.  The sophomore has 30 goals on the season and a .508 shot percentage.

The Dukes' Clare Hurley was named the A-10's Rookie of the Week after adding six goals and an assist in a pair of Duquesne wins last week.

Duquesne leads the all-time series between the two schools, 11-3.

Scouting the Bonnies (2-2)

St. Bonaventure kicked off its lacrosse season just three weeks ago, but the Bonnies are already one of the highest-scoring teams in the conference this season.  The team averages 15 goals per game, taking an average of 28 shots per game.

Sara Schlagenhauf and Karly Kocis split time in goal and combine for the second-highest save percentage in the conference.

La Salle is 4-8 all-time against the Bonnies.
