PHILADELPHIA – Behind four goals each by junior

Claire Andrews, the lacrosse team won its fourth straight game, defeating Lafayette, 12-11, on Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium.
La Salle now sits at 4-1 on the season.
Senior
Megan Corliss made nine saves in goal, while classmate
Nora McGurkin controlled eight draws for the Explorers. Freshman
Caitlyn Brostrand had a pair of goals, while sophomore
Jackie Roebuck and junior
Lauren McDermott each had one.
The Leopards (3-3) scored first and would take a 4-2 lead five minutes into the contest. Andrews provided a spark for the Explorers early on, scoring the Blue and Gold's first four goals of the game.
Her shot off a feed from McDermott with 12:33 on the clock evened the game at 4-all.
But Lafayette scored the final three goals before the break to take a 7-4 lead into halftime.
The Explorers played a strong second half, outscoring the Leopards 8-4.
An unassisted Brostrand goal with 13:45 on the clock evened the score at 8-all.
The Explorers played several minutes of tough defense, but Lafayette scored on a free position shot to take a 9-8 lead.
From there, La Salle won three straight draws to give itself some momentum on the field. Brostrand again came up big for the Explorers to tie the score at 9-all with 9:52 remaining.
McDermott scored on a man-up opportunity after McGurkin won the draw. Sarcinello added a goal and then scored again after senior
Rachel Baker caused a key turnover to give the possession back to La Salle.
The Blue and Gold held a 12-9 lead with just over seven minutes to play, but the game wasn't put away yet. Lafayette rallied with two straight goals to cut the Explorers lead to 12-11 with 2:21 on the clock.
La Salle lost the ensuing draw, but the Explorers' defense held and La Salle then ran out the final minute of the game.
The Explorers next face Drexel at McCarthy Stadium on Saturday. The contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.
