PHILADELPHIA - La Salle soccer alum Ryan Richter '11 (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) has been named the USL PRO Player of the Week.
Richter is a midfielder for the Charleston Battery of the USL PRO Soccer League. He helped propel the Battery to a 3-0 win over the Charlotte Eagles on April 17 with his first professional goal. He also has three points in his first three games with the Battery.
Richter was drafted out of La Salle as the fifth overall pick in the first round of the 2011 MLS Supplemental Draft by the Philadelphia Union. He also spent time with the Harrisburg City Islanders of USL PRO before moving to the Charleston Battery. He is a former Atlantic 10 Player of the Year while in an Explorer uniform, leading the 2010 La Salle squad to the championship final.
