Lacrosse Looks To Extend A-10 Winning Streak Over Temple

PHILADELPHIA – The women's lacrosse team will travel down Broad Street to face Temple in an Atlantic 10 contest on Saturday afternoon at Geasey Field.

La Salle (9-2, 2-0) opened its A-10 slate at 2-0 after wins over Duquesne and St. Bonaventure last weekend.

The Explorers picked up two of the three weekly A-10 awards after senior goalkeeper Megan Corliss was named the Defender of the Week and freshman midfielder Caitlyn Brostrand was named the Rookie of the Week.

Corliss currently leads Division I in saves on the season with 116 and is third in save percentage at .532.  The Blue Bell, Pa. native also is second in the A-10 in goals against average (9.34).

Junior Melanie Sarcinello leads the Explorers with 25 goals on the season, while Brostrand has 24.

Scouting the Owls (7-5, 1-1)

Temple is coming off of a 14-13 loss to #18 Princeton on Wednesday.  The Owls held a three-goal lead with 16 minutes remaining, but couldn't hold on for the win.

Stephany Parcell has added 23 goals on the season.  Tess Bishop has seen the most time between the pipes this season and has an 11.62 goals against average.

Temple has dropped three of its last four games.  So far in A-10 play, the Owls cruised to a win over St. Bonaventure, but fell to Duquesne.
