Lacrosse Drops 13-9 Decision To Temple

PHILADELPHIA - The women's lacrosse team had its two-game Atlantic 10 win streak snapped after a 13-9 loss to Temple on Saturday afternoon at Geasey Field.

La Salle (9-3, 2-1) suffers just its third loss of the season, while Temple now sits at 8-5 (2-1).

Junior Lauren McDermott and freshman Caitlyn Brostrand each added three goals in the game. 

Senior Megan Corliss made four saves while allowing 13 goals. Junior Jackie Donato controlled five draws for the Explorers.

La Salle took a 3-1 lead by the 17:25 mark of the game.  However, the Owls scored the final four goals of the half to go up 5-3 at the break.

In the second half, the Explorers mounted a late-game rally after McDermott added a goal and Brostrand added two to put La Salle within one at 10-9 with 3:35 left to play.

Missy Schweitzer would go on to score three goals for Temple in the final 3:11 of play to put the game out of reach for La Salle.

Next up for the Explorers is a trip to play Richmond on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
