PALO ALTO, Calif. – #11 Stanford scored six goals in the first half and never looked back in a 10-0 victory over La Salle in the season opener for both teams on Friday evening.

Courtney Haldman scored in the 13^th minute to give the Cardinal (1-0) the lead. Two goals in the next six minutes by Alex McCawley and Hope Burke made it 3-0.

All-American Becky Dru tallied a goal in the 24^th minute before Haldman and Burke scored their second goals of the game to extend the lead to 6-0 just after the half.

Sophomore goalie Lisa Shaffer made seven saves for the Explorers. Sophomore Olivia Leaman had a defensive save for LU. 

La Salle (0-1) is back in action on Sunday at Pacific. Game time is 12 PM Pacific/3 PM Eastern.
