PHILADELPHIA - La Salle freshman Joe Farrell was named the Atlantic 10's first Rookie of the Week of the 2012 season, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

He was also voted La Salle's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'.

Farrell made a splash in his collegiate debut against Drexel on Saturday night, netting the game-winning goal just 45 seconds into overtime as the Explorers came from behind to top the Dragons in Soccer Six action. Down 2-1 with under a minute left in regulation, Farrell also recorded his first collegiate assist when he found Mike Stanton near the net for the game-tying goal with just 36 seconds remaining.

The Explorers return to action on Friday night when they head to Loyola (Md.) for a 7 p.m. contest.
