HAVERFORD, Pa. - Meghan McGlinchey crossed the finish line first at the Main Line Invitational on Thursday afternoon, finishing the three-mile race in 16:16.30.
McGlinchey burned the field in the final stretch, finishing nearly 10 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. The victory was her second of the young season, as she finished first in the Explorer's opening meet of the year vs. Penn.
La Salle boasted seven top-20 finishers and nine of the top-40 in the 84 runner field.
Stephanie Bearish (17:17.80),
Wendy Hutchinson (17:22.10), and
Michelle Capozzi (17:24.20) finished 9th -11th, respectively, while teammates
Elizabeth Walker (17:50.10),
Christa Strycharz (17:51.80), and
Meghan Lutz (17:52.10) finished 16th-18th.
La Salle runs again on Saturday, September 29 at the George Mason Invitational in Leesburg, Va.
