PHILADELPHIA – John McCarthy has been named GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Month for September, it was announced today. With McCarthy in net, the men's soccer team posted a 3-2-1 record in September. The Cinnaminson, N.J. native registered an .853 save percentage for the month with a goals against average of 0.85.

The senior recorded two shutouts (9/11 vs. LIU Brooklyn & 9/21 vs. Lehigh) in September, upping his career totally to 25, a program record. McCarthy registered back-to-back 7-save performances against Bucknell (9/8) and LIU Brooklyn, good for a season-high.

McCarthy continues to climb the La Salle record book, as his 384 career saves are fourth in program history.
