BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In her first race of the season,
Michelle Capozzi paced the La Salle women's cross country team at the Paul Short Run with a 21:35 (6K), good for a 71
st place finish (401-runner field). As a team, the Explorers came in 30
th (47-team field).
Anne Areias was the second Explorer to cross the finish line, coming in at 22:08 (135
th).
Taylor Hackett (22:39),
Rochelle Harrison (22:44), and
Molly Mickle (22:48) ran together and came in 202
nd, 209
th, and 215
th, respectively.
Kaylie McNally clocked a 23:26 (278
th).
"Overall, it was a solid outing, head coach Dan Ireland said. "The girls are still putting it together and we know we can run much better."
La Salle (832 team points) finished ahead of Atlantic 10 counterparts Massachusetts (928 team points, 36
th) and George Washington (1391 team points, 47
th).
Georgetown (112 team points), Dartmouth (125 team points), and Villanova (168 team points) led the pack, placing at the top of the field.
The Explorers run again on Saturday, October 19 at the Princeton Invitational.
