Areias Paces Women’s Cross Country at ECAC Championships

BRONX, N.Y. – Anne Areias finished 12th (18:40.6, 5K) at the ECAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park, pacing the Explorers' seventh place team finish. La Salle, which came in third at the Atlantic 10 Championships on November 2, tallied 158 team points on the day.

"The women ran okay today as a team," head coach Dan Ireland said. "Anne ran very well in her last collegiate cross country race."

Areias was trailed by Taylor Hackett, who clocked a 19:04.5, posting a 24th place finish. Molly Mickle (19:35.2) came in 38th, followed by a four-pack of Explorers including Cayleigh Solano (19:38.8, 41st), Rochelle Harrison (19:43.1, 43rd), Kaylie McNally (19:44.7, 44th), and Carolan DiFiore (19:49.7, 48th).

La Salle finished ahead of Rider (160) and Iona (267). Georgetown took home the top prize (29).
