Jason Plumhoff is one of 29 finalists for Soccer News Net's College Boot, given to the Player of the Year in Division I soccer. Plumhoff, the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, is the only player from the A-10 or Soccer 6 to appear on the ballot.
Fans can vote for Plumhoff by using this link. Online fan voting accounts for 40% of the vote in determining the Soccer News Net Player of the Year. Winners will be announced in January.
Plumhoff ended his four-year Explorer career on a high note, leading his squad to its fourth consecutive A-10 tournament and a victory over Dayton in the first round of the conference tournament. He tallied 32 points (11 goals, 10 assists) on the year, becoming only the second Explorer in history to have more than 10 of each in a single season. Cesidio Colasante did so in 1994.
The River Hill product ranked ninth nationally this season in points/game (1.6), 10
th in assists/game (0.5), and 30
th in goals/game (0.55). He led the A-10 in goals and assists, the only player in the nation to lead his respective conference in both categories.
The Ellicott City, Md. native ended his career with 80 points, fourth in La Salle history. His 26 career assists are second-most in program history while his 27 goals are good for seventh.Â
