PHILADELPHIA - Women's basketball freshman Micahya Owens earned her first career Atlantic 10 honor on Monday, as the conference office announced her as this week's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.

Owens averaged a team-best 17.5 points per game over the last two, dropping in a team-high 16 points in a 64-54 setback to Penn and then draining 19 points in the Explorers' 73-59 win at William & Mary. Owens went 6-for-9 overall from the field against the Tribe, including a 4-for-6 showing from long range. She nailed back-to-back treys in the second half to help the Explorers pull away from the Tribe, while contributing defensively with seven rebounds.

The Willingboro, N.J., native currently leads all Explorers with 13.7 points per game on the season.
