PHILADELPHIA - Janel Paukovits was named a 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I Scholar of Distinction, the organization announced last week. Recipients of the recognition must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.

The senior, who carries a 3.96 GPA as a biology major, was one of 71 student-athletes to procure the prestigious honor. The announcement came on the heels of the La Salle field hockey team receiving the Academic Team Award from the NFHCA.
